Summary

The keynote speaker indicated that most trends in R&D centers are focused on automating a business by relying on smart machines. This means that such machines can perform many activities that people do today, with more efficiency and accuracy to a degree that they can gradually replace humans. According to the study by the World Economic Forum, threatened jobs are characterized by manual dexterity, tolerance and accuracy, memory, verbal and auditory and spatial capabilities, financial and material resource management, technology and maintenance installation, use, and control of technology, and others.

However, four constant elements constitute a general framework for understanding the map of future job changes, including patterns of career change based on technology, human capabilities that cannot be automated, change of job composition (known job tasks), patterns and models of employment and the future of the company. Future employment models will enjoy greater flexibility, and they will be characterized by a greater prevalence of part-time work, remote work …etc. Also, one of the important skills for the future: emotional intelligence, innovation, persuasive capabilities, and creativity, which are at the forefront of the skills that the student learns in the West, and the student and teacher need. This leads to the necessity of developing a full education strategy to accommodate changes in the future labor market.

Recommendations:

  1. It would be very important to engage the labor market in determining the outputs of the educational process. Thus, data and information will be obtained about the labor market from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development. Accordingly, the strategies related to education will be drafted to align the educational output with the labor market.
  2. Urging the government and private education and research centers to make more effort and provide more funding on conducting studies on research, development, and innovation, mainly on modern technologies and identifying the required future jobs.
  3. Developing a full strategy for education to accommodate the changes in the future labor market.
  4. Developing the process of selecting and educating the teachers and drafting a code of conduct for the teachers to abide by.
  5. Caring for the physical, psychological, and social educational environment based on the laws and regulations of education and training, as they are an important basis for education.
